Access WIL
People with disabilities face many barriers to study and work and are underrepresented in these areas. This project looks at the intersection of these experiences where students with disabilities look for and complete Work-Integrated Learning internship placements as part of their degrees.
This project is led by Timothy Boye from the University of Technology Sydney and is funded by the Australasian Association for Engineering Education and the Australian Collaborative Education Network.
UTS Professional Practice Program Redevelopment
I have worked across much of our core and professional practice programs for both IT and Engineering at UTS supporting the operation of and design of our programs.
In 2020 I led a redeveloped of the curriculum and course content for the entire Diploma of IT Professional Practice, aligning it with current IT industry practice and WIL pedagogy and providing stronger support to students.
In 2021 I led the proposal and implementation of a rationalisation and merger between aligned aspects of our Diploma of IT Professional Practice, Diploma of Professional Engineering Practice and several other work-integrated learning subjects from other degrees. This project ensured the sustainability of the program through COVID-19 budgetary constraints while maintaining quality student experiences.
While I have now stepped away from coordinating the Practice Program, I still advise on the program and its current work further improving the curriculum across the program.
